Hello people :D
I hope you guys still visits this blog, and feel free to update some posts to keep each other updated and keep each other in prayer too :)

Stay over supposedly in June but Joe is exceptionally busy for the month so lets give him rest on the weekends. haha. the next best date is 8-9August2010! (sunday-monday) lock in the dates into your phones, schedule, diaries etc!
because its a public holiday (its national day if you cant recall), it should be an off day for most of us.

its alright if you cant/dont want to stay over. still try to come on sunday for a good bonding session :)

Wanna thank Jace, XY & YM for the dinner last night, as well as Josh for dinner last week! WH and me are so touched by your gesture and love. I pray that one day your sheep will love you this way too!! Keep touching the lives of others alright? For the sake of the Kingdom, not dinner! =p

Dear BFC people.

Firstly, a very happy 2010 to all of you guys, and girls. seriously, and i really mean seriously, you guys are a A-W-E-S-O-M-E bunch of people to be with! the journey that we have come together so far, i believe everyone can agree with me that its a blast. the journey is not always up-sailing, but we all know that we are moving up the "graph". (imagine the graph that has flauctuating lines but overall its going up) - at least thats what i think comparing the past and now.

Personally, i feel that its not a coincidence that we came together as one, its not a coincidence that Joe and Wanhui were the leaders who is always there for us, its not a coincidence that i'm placed in this cell. so you all know lah, its that Guy who has this all planned. i'm really, really, thankful that i have gotten to know you people, and thank you for accepting me for who i am. even though im always mistaken to be a "C-A-B" , but you guys knows my heart and willing to open up to me and share with me your life, this is not something you can find or do with your "BFF, girlfriends/boyfriends, etc.." and you know, we are a group made up of various nature/personality. we get to experience the other extreme end of people within our cell. for eg we have ppl who are very quiet, some very noisy. some very creative and merticulous, and some who has damn good memories, while the rest prefer using their left hand to clean up. ;)

im thankful that we are able to grow TOGETHER, and the memories and experiences that we have gained is something money really cannot buy. i really do hope we can continue to make efforts to keep up together, to have dinner together, to watch some bedtime stories together, and lastly, to not give up spurring one another to do better in what is right.

lastly, to Joe and Wanhui. thanks for your patience with us, thanks for your forgiviness, thanks for being there to lead us, to spur our growth, to care, to pray for us. Because of what you have given, i'm sure we will catch on from you and pass it on to other people around us. i guess thats when people will see the difference in Christians.

AWESOME NEWS PEOPLE
MY GRANDMA ACCEPTED CHRIST! A MIRACULOUS MIRACLE!!!!!!

I'm witnessing God's miraculous work in my midst right now. so awesome that my hands are trembling as I type.
My grandma few weeks back fell down and ended in the hospital. following she had respiratory problem and even went to ICU. thank God she was stable soon after. but on the 23rd she had a stroke in the middle of the night. everyone was shocked cause she was doing well. she could walk around on her own and even joke with the nurse.
went to visit her late at night with my mum and sis after my mum ended work that day. her left body was weak and she has little control over it. she was asleep when we were there.
so heartbreaking to see her in that state, with a tissue under her head as she lays side ways because she drools uncontrollably.
we were asked to leave as it was close to 12 midnight. I was prompted by God to stay and pray for her. so I mum and aunt was outside and I get my sis along to join me as I hold my grandma's hand and prayed a simple prayer. for God to heal her, protect her, be there for her comfort and be real to her.

the next day my grandaunty who is a christian brought her pastor to visit her. even though grandma had a stroke she is still conscious and is able to respond to what others ask her. so they prayed for her and asked her if she wants to believe in Christ. AND OMG SHE SAID YES!
following when my grandaunty asked my grandma, "now you know you're saved, you must get well and lead your children to Christ." AND ONCE AGAIN SHE SAID YES!

this is so unbelievable! God answered all our prayers! I hope this can be a testimony that will impact my whole family and others who hear of this significantly.
this is my best Christmas present. thank You Lord!

Hey BFC! Some of the announcements/admin to be cleared (:

1) Last calling for "Sweat-Eat-Out" event!
When: 12th December, Saturday
Where: LSBC
Time: 12pm to 9pm
Cost: $10 per pax

Spend an engergising afternoon of sports and games, followed by a cook-it-with-friends BBQ dinner this December holiday! Invite your friends! Attire to be casual or preferably sports attire, bring an extra set of clothing if you want (in case you perspire too much :D). Please confirm with LingJia your attendance & the no. of friends you'll be bringing. See you there!

2) Christmas Service
When: 20th December, Sunday
Time: 11.15am to 12.45pm

At the same time, we'll be having a Christmas party @ Joe's house! Invite your friends too, and those whom you've invited for last year's party. Confirm with Joshua your attendance & no. of friends you'll be bringing, last but not least, the type of food you'll be bringing! This is to avoid repetition, I'm sure we don't want trays of beehoon that can cater for more than 200 people. In addition, each of us has to bring a present for gift exchange, of not more than $10. Alright, let's look forward to it! :)

3) Christmas Unwrap
When: 26th December, Saturday
Time: 4pm to 6.30pm
Venue: L2 auditorium

This could well be follow-up for friends you've invited for the Christmas service and the Christmas party that we'll be having! :)

4) Watchnight service
When: 31st December, Thursday
Time: 8.30pm to 12.15am
Venue: L2 auditorium
Cost: $4 per pax

Registration has started, & will end on 13th Dec. Please confirm with Sophia your attendance by this week, & bring along the money. Since you guys will be very busy on the 12th Dec with Sweat-Eat-Out, there won't be time to collate attendance and the collection of money. So to make things easier, let's get it done as early as possible! Yeah, your friends are welcome :D

Joe: Pray that I'll be positive and trust God to hit my targets. I've been rather negative lately. I must get out of this mindset! Pray also for continued discipline to exercise!

Jace: Thank God for Prelims result! I improved alot. Pray that my heart, mind and soul will learn to trust God wholly.

Thank you to YM and co for planning the previous one. We all enjoyed ourselves and it won't have been possible w/o you guys inviting your friends!
Some of us discussed yesterday during cell on what to do and since Nov would probably be a lighter programme (exams and all), we're playing sports next week! Here's the outline:

Sports (carried out by Joel and Smarties)
-Dodgeball/ poisonball
-Touch Rug
-Backup: Captain's ball
-To all: Pls bring any kind of ball you may have for dodgeball (e.g. tennis ball, soccer) that is preferably not as small as pingpong ball and not as hard as basketball. And let Joel know via sms so that he knows if there'd be sufficient on that day. (What's his no? Check the BFC card)
-To Joel: You can probably ask the children's church in advance for the kids soccer ball if there's not enough

Food
We're ordering pizza! (: (Quantity based on turnout on the day) Please bring around $5 each excluding friends.

Venue
-The park opp Yuying (there's a open stage there or something)
-MPH for wet weather (not confirmed)

Let's all be sporting and ask at least 2 friends to join us and chill a little. (: (in spite of exam period) Remember our theme this year: Impact One! Start praying and fasting if you're desperate enough. (:

Anyway, we're having simultaneous prayer for our friends on Fri night 10pm i.e. pray at the same time wherever you are. Daryl will send you guys a reminder. (:
May God put in us a desire to see people drawn to Him too!

Hello all! (: Here are the prayer requests:

Daryl: Thank God for an enjoyable week and His protection over me! Pray that I'll continue to enjoy doing Maths!

Joyce: Thank God for the (parents') food ministry in school--> free dinner--> can study peacefully without having to worry about how to settle that day's dinner =)

YM: Fully utilise every time I have, balance between studies and God

Jace: Thank God for improvement in subjects thus far. Pray that I will not be stressed but have peace even as I go about my daily routines

XY: Fully utilise my time and increase productivity (: Pray that I'll stop sleeping during sermon during service.

WH: Pray for parents' health to be good. Pray for wisdom, clarity, effectiveness at work and favour in the things that I do

Annabelle: Pray for the examinations coming in 2 weeks time. Pray also for calmness during the paper.

Jas: Sufficient sleep and able to manage my work properly. Pray that I am able to seek for more friends to church next sat. and for those who did not attend church today, give them a desire to come fore the following week.

Sophia: Pray for discipline and peace of God during revision that I'll not panick as exam gets nearer. Pray for overwhelming response for youth camp. And may the presence of God continue to be with my teacher's mum. Thank God for everything that has happened this week (:

Pray for my teacher's mother's health to recover, it's some kind of heart problem and needs to undergo surgery. Pray for God's presence to be with her always (even though she's a Buddhist now) and that she'll come to know God one day.
Pray for confidence and calmness as I publicise for youth camp next week (there's still some reluctance though haha). Thank God for an awesome week even though I had <5>

Hello BFC! :) Just some updates on this sat's CHILL OUT!

Attendance for BFC: 14

Mini Buffet - $3.50 per pax
Fish Otah, Beehoon, Ikan Bilis, Achar, Peanuts, Fishball, Sambal Chili, Cripsy Chicken

Total cost of dinner: $120.38 (with GST)

Each BFC member will pay $5 each and the friends we've invited will pay $2 each.

1 I bless God every chance I get; my lungs expand with his praise.

These 2 weeks has been really a rough ride for me in many ways. I lost focus & made careless mistakes repeatedly. sigh. I also got blamed from some supposed gdwill situation but at that time, i did not call my fren to chat. Instead, i chose to really seek the Lord desperately in my car & it's amazing how God & I could have a 40 min conversation filled with pleas, tears & questioning but God spoke so strongly to me. It was a REAL conversation. Peace & comfort came through to me. *Thank God for tat* The Lord showed me my weakness & i'll keep remembering that His grace is sufficient for me & His strength will be made perfect in my weaknesses. Psalm 34:4 "I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears." (NKJV). I just know God won't leave me in the lurch in my desperate moments. I'm glad i ran into His embrace. Through my bad spate of events, i know that God is gonna walk thru this season with me & i'm going to come back stronger & it'll be an elevation of my faith built in Him! God is my firm foundation! Amen to that!

Specify your worries
- if you cant specify any, why are you worrying?

Take Actions on your worries
- A survey says 40% of the things we worry about never happen; another 30% of our worries are in the past, and we can't do anything about them. 12% concern other people, and are really none of our business anyway. 10% are about sickness which we can do very little to control. Only 8% of the things we worry about are worth worrying about. And about half of that 8%, which is 4% is actually about trivial things that can be solved easily.

Offer Up Prayers
- the worries which you actually cannot do something about, offer them up to God.

Place your Trust in God

Small Things

I struggled to get out of bed this morning, watered the orchids, freshened up, came to office, gonna see customers later, then go home, jog, watch TV, spend time with God.. This is my usual day. Nothing spectacular, nothing glamourous. But life is often filled with a series of small things that can amount to something big. Many people in the Bible go about doing routine, mundane chores during most part of their lives too.

Jesus grew up as a carpenter's son and was a "boring" carpenter till he was 30 years old.

Moses spent years as a shepherd before he discovered the burning bush.

Paul was a tent maker, spending a great deal of his life persecuting Christians.

Jacob spent 20 years working for Laban so as to win his wife over.

Life is filled with daily routines. Every now and then, God takes us to the mountain top to experience His presence in a dramatic way. This is not the norm. God uses small things in life to develop character qualities that He plans to use at the appropriate time. In the small things we develop trustworthiness with God. The day-in and day-out grind of working life molds us and makes us into what God desires. God is still preparing us for something great. For now, however, are we learning the daily lessons of small things?

One thing to pray for ourselves: That we will be FAITHFUL. Faithful in small things, in serving, in loving others, in school work, in attending Youth Ablaze, in reaching out.

Jace: Thank God that I managed to go through the week well. I think God gave me greater confidence to face exams. Especially my math. Outing.

Hello BFC! Just now over at dinner (thankyou WanHui!), some of us have discussed to either play badminton or visit the Singapore Zoo. So the answer's pretty obvious, we're paying the Zoo a visit! :D It'll be on 12 July, Sunday, right after 2nd service. The opening hours are 8.30am to 6pm (last admission would be at 5.30pm). From my experience, it would probably take less than an hour to tour around the Zoo. So please let me or Smarties know if you guys can make it. You're also welcome to reply at the tagboard. Thanks!

Hi BFC. (: Thank you for the wonderful time at the retreat and each and every one of you definitely means much to the cell! Hope that the retreat has refreshed all of us and motivate us to move towards our vision and goals as a cell. Like what Joe and Smart said, there's still time for us to grab and continue to grow as a cell!

Below are some prayer pointers. Pls take some time to pray for one another. Let us commit our plans to God and cultivate a heart of expectancy to what God has in store for the cell!

In general
-Ask God to increase our faith , that we shall not limit Him by what we perceive of the 'little time' left
-Pray that we will manage our time well and have a spirit of excellence as we serve the cell
-Pray that each week that we meet up, God will give us new insights and that we'd begin to share deeper
(Why is it important to pray for our weekly meetings, you may ask? I'd like to share something that really touched my heart. I went for a SA village prayer walk just recently and the parents who organised this told us that they prayed for the village every wed. When I was at the pre-prayer walk, I was Spirit-filled so quickly. And I began to see that it was the unceasing prayers of these parents that I had benefitted from the prayer walk. Even for YA and church services, people have been praying before service for God to move in the place and we have benefitted from it. Let us pray and develop this anticipation for God to do even greater things even during an ordinary cell meeting!)

Parents Connect
-Pray for Clarissa for God-given ideas as she plans the Parents Connect activity
-Ask God to soften the hearts of our parents to come for the activity and that God will deposit something in their lives

Mission trip
-Pray for Iris and Ben that as they plan the mission trip, God will speak into their hearts and direct them the way to go
-Pray for willing hearts to go for mission trip as one body
-Pray that our parents will allow us to go for the mission trip, and that He will answer our financial needs

Project 1024
-Pray for XiYing that as she executes the project, God will give her strength as she juggles sch work too

QT
-Ask God to help us to be disciplined and to desire to devote 20 mins of our day to intentionally draw close to Him and learn from His word

Your very prayers is heard by God, whether long or short, fluent or not. (: Last but not least, remember to write your note of encouragement to your mortal else the person will be very sad! =D

Last week, as I was reading my 1yr bible, I came across this verse, Psalm 34:19.
"Many adversities come to the one who is righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all." (HCSB)

Let's take a step back and look back at our lives. Were there times when you face difficulties, setbacks, betrayals, back-stabbing, etc. Were there times when everything seem impossible? Were there times when you are at your wit's end? Have you come to a crossroad and have no idea which way to go?
I'm sure most of us had experienced such times.

Where are we now? Havent we gone through all that? Did we overcome/been through such times on our own? Based on our intelligence, capabilites, strengths, finite knowledge, dynamic thinking, and radical mindsets?? Could this be all that's needed?

Turn your eyes towards Jesus. Recognize that it's through HIM that we could overcome all these times. God is our deliverer! Thank Him for His faithfulness.

There will still be times like these in the future. There could be even much more. But let us claim the promise the God has given us through Psalm 34:19. The Lord will deliver!

1 Sam 2 talks about Hannah praising God, after God granted her a son (Samuel). I was meditating on the verse and was struck by verse 9, when it says "No one will succeed by strength alone". How many times have I strive by my own strength? How many times have I felt that I have not tried hard enough? The Word of God reminded me, that sheer hard work is not good enough. Ultimately, God provides, He's in control. I'm such a control freak!!

Teach me Lord, how to release EVERY situation into your good hands. Nothing is too difficult for You. Thank you Lord, for your assurance, that you will "set things right" and I'll be exalted on top of the world : ]

Hey BFC. Just want to let you guys know that I believe that some of us really appreciate the prayers that you guys have made for our studies. Even though sometimes we come for cell looking half dead, I can't emphasis how much I (or we) look forward to see you guys!

Just like to share with you guys some things that has been in my heart today.. As you would have known, my school has morning worship everyday, whereby we start our day right with God. And I kinda have to do morning prayer.. which is like.. let's just say I prefer to do worship rather than rally people to pray more.

Anyway, I didn't have much time to prepare for it but God spoke to me about this passage in Psalm 107. I kinda shared it impromptu with the people, but as I was sharing.. I begin to see the importance of prayer.. Psalm 107 is actually about the people in Ezra's days when they returned from exile in Babylon back to Jerusalem.. and they were back to rebuild God's temple which was in ruins. And this is actually in line with the 40 Day Prayer and Fast booklet we had for SAJC.
The psalm is really cool because it talks about how people from different walks return back to God.. and this part of the psalm really struck me..

³³ He turned rivers into a desert,
flowing springs into thirsty ground,

³⁴ and fruitful land into a salt waste,
because of the wickedness of those who lived there.

³⁵ He turned the desert into pools of water
and the parched ground into flowing springs;

³⁶ there he brought the hungry to live,
and they founded a city where they could settle.

It's really amazing! How God can turn rivers into desert (which is quite scary if it really materialises), and also desert into pools of water! And I would say that if our prayers for our friends begins to 'dry up', how can we expect God to turn a parched land into a place with living water flowing to every corner of our school/church/nation? We need to keep asking the Holy Spirit to fall like rain on this barren land, into the hearts of our friends who are lost and have no place to settle (v4)!
Yeah.. Even for me, I felt that it really spoke to me because there I was, tired of sharing the gospel and doubting if my friends would ever turn to God , and serving Him in this evangelistic event that is meant to save souls (which is quite ironic). I just want to encourage us to start praying for our friends and invite them for Evoke or even better, Reinhard Bonnke's evangelistic crusade on 10th-12th April. Zonal Bonding

Hi Dearies!

Joe & I felt so encouraged to see you guys coming for the zonal bonding! I think it's an incredulous effort esp with the craziness of school & exams!

More importantly, Prayers really work!
Sometimes we don't mention it coz we don't want to boast but if we have to boast, we want to boast in the name of the Lord! Yes, praying helps and God hears our pleas. We've been praying and crying out to God to bring some of you back. He did so. =) At the same time, we thank God for those of you who have always been faithful in coming, in serving the cell! We can't even put into words our appreciation towards you. I think by now you know how important you are to the cell.

If you don't, we are telling you.

Press on BFCers! Many of us are praying for each of you daily. Don't give up easily. Put up a good fight. Plan time for rest and leisure. Set aside time for God. 20mins a day. You can do it.

LIFE

Life is a journey we all must make. It has its ups and downs, detours and obstacles, valleys and mountains. For me, in relation to school, every week is more than survival. It is triumph! Knowing that God has already won the victory for you makes the journey easier. Sometimes, things get difficult. You climb one peak and yet another one is before you. You look up and you see many mountains ahead. They look steep. Sometimes, you can't even tell what is ahead. Mist and darkness enshrouds. During such times...

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." - Psalm 119: 105

Sometimes, life gets tiring and worrisome. But don't worry, Jesus is there for us!

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30

Cast all your cares, worries, burdens and problems on Jesus! He will gladly take them!

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:7

Also, do not forget to pray! Prayer is probably the most powerful weapon/tool you can use for anything and everything, be it big or small, for God hears them all!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6

I tend to pray for things not in my control but I feel that we should, like what Philippians 4:6 says, pray for every single thing! Including those things that are in your control or which you think are in your control or which are supposed to be in your control. When praying, pray with belief! Because...

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." - Matthew 21:22

Remember that God is always with you!

"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." - Deuteronomy 31:8

Remember always that God has only the best in mind for you!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

Therefore, knowing and believing in this, we should...

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6

Have you ever felt lacking in anything? Fret not! God is our provider! If we choose to follow Him, He will not only guide us but provide for us!

"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want." - Psalm 23:1

"And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19

When Satan comes to taunt you and make a mess of your life, cling fast to God! Always remember that...

"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." - 1 John 4:4

Ours is the Almighty God! Therefore, we can go through life in confidence!

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." - Psalm 23:4

Through life's journey, depend on God who is full of love and grace, and who is our faithful God!

"But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness." - Psalm 86:15

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases
His mercies never come to an end

When you feel that all is lost, and God doesn't seem to be working or answering your prayers even though you've prayed really hard, remember this:

"We live by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7

God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way

Remember how God has been faithful in the past...

"I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago." - Psalm 77:11

Since God doesn't change, surely He will be faithful again! =)

When life gets tough, have the end in sight! It will be an encouragement to keep going!

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." - James 1:12

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." - Hebrews 12:1

Knowing this, we can...

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." - James 1:2-4

Finally, in everything...

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

We don't have to thank God for everything that happens, especially the bad stuff. But we can thank Him in everything, knowing that He is always there and our victory is in Him!

I shall end my sharing with a verse from the Psalms. There is absolute truth to what David said!

"Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." - Psalm 37:5-6

I Will Remember...

Have you ever exercised your will over the will of God? Have you ever been so willful that you choose to go your own way no matter what God said? If so, you have been at the same place as the prophet Jonah. God called Jonah to deliver a message to God's people as a warning. Jonah flatly refused! It was Jonah's will over God's. Guess who won?

I am doing the One Year Bible in chronological order this year. And yes, I'm now in Leviticus.. Yawn.. However, the portion I read yesterday shook me out of my boredom, sending chills right down my spine.

... if you refuse to obey me, I will 1. Send debilitating disease, high fevers, blindness (lose my health!) 2. Enemies will eat your crops (I labour, others take credit!). 3. People who hate you will govern you (that idiot is gonna be my teacher/boss??!!). 4. You'll run scared even when there's no one chasing you (stressed until I hallucinate!). 5. No matter how hard you work, nothing will come of it (totally helpless!). 6. Wild animals will rob you of your children, kill your cattle (The gloomy economic dragon will eat me up!). 7. Send a deadly epidemic on you (unknown virus, lethal diseases!). 8. Send war (from where? Family wars? Cold wars?). 9. Cut off your bread supply (losing my job!). 10. You'll end up cooking and eating your sons in stews and your daughters in barbecues (!!).

The list goes on...

Wah, a bit kua1 zhang1 right? God, chill it man.. God has a way of getting us to rethink our decisions, to reconsider our position. In fact, we see the extent of Jonah's willfulness by the amount of time he was willing to hang out in the belly of that fish - three full days! Then, Jonah decides enough is enough! Obedience is better than this fish belly and seaweed. I can identify with Jonah. I am worse than Jonah at times.. Many of us are sometimes placed in the "belly of the fish" to encourage us to fulfill the purposes of God, to right our wrong. Jonah's situation changed immediately upon his obedience. Obedience is a mysterious thing. Jesus had to learn it through the things He suffered.

Heb. 5:8 (NASV)
Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.

If Jesus had to learn obedience, what does that mean for you and me?

It's my turn to share.

One of my friends recently asked, "What's worship all about?"
Well, Worship is between you and God-Nothing else.

I love that feeling when you're just lost in worship and you keep singing and singing and you just don't care how you sound anymore. You lose everything but your focus on God and it just becomes all that matters. When I sing to the lyrics, I want to mean every syllable of it from the depths of my heart. But sometimes for me, It's hard to surrender everything in life to him. It takes time.

Take for example, my O level results. It took me sometime to accept it. Two weeks ago during the worship. I was still pondering about it the entire week and my heart was feeling heavy the moment I step into the place. As the worship starts & continue, I pause and said a short prayer to God. Asking God to release the burden inside me that is hurting me. I felt his presence and tears started flowing. God is working on it and healing the pain. His is awesome.

I come to a point to realize that- To sit back and do nothing is like going backwards, rather than forward into the future that God has set for us. God has plans for us, everyone.

And....Mission trip. I can't wait for the mission trip end of this year. Honestly, It's the first time for many of us while some are going on their 2nd mission trip. From their experiences they share, I think it's called grace. Grace to care for someone other than myself, grace to go the extra mile and grace in which to Love God kingdom and children of His.

So yes, I'm happy and I thank God for everything right now.

Hi BFC! How are u all doing? I hope you're doing fine! No.. I hope you're doing great! Coz I'm still surviving.. as usual =)

Anyway, this is about prayer meeting this Sunday - 8 Feb 2009. Yup.. I'm not sure how many of you will read this before the wkend comes but don't worry I'll send a reminder =) Was supposed to do this a wk ago, but didn't, so now Jacelyn is angry with me.. Got to do this quick.. Juz kidding, Jacelyn =)

Since we're supposed to come for service this Sunday (it's the 2nd Sunday of the month), let us take a quick lunch after that and go for prayer meeting! Yup.. It starts at 1330 I heard and it lasts for about an hour! I'm not very sure how it is done.. This is my first proper corporate prayer event so I don't really know what to expect. this verse speaks to my heart.
as all of you knows that i will be getting my posting of school this friday.
i wasnt really feeling worried about where i will go in the past.
but recently, i am starting to grow worried about where i will go.
or should i say where God wants me to go.

i told myself that wherever God wants me to go i will go.
spiritually, i did felt that.
but by human nature, i was actually feeling worried.
this question has been popping out of my head
" What if in the end you end up in ite?"
i mean, ite its okay. its not that bad actually.
but what worries me i think is my faith in God.

God knows our heart desire.
but in some way, i didnt have much faith in Him.
i was so scared that God would want me to go ite instead.
to me, its like there is a slight chance of going poly.
just a teeny weeny bit & i really really hope that i can get into that course.
but what if i didnt?

this verse actually comforts me
reminding me not to worry
and that God will provide.

SO........
i am hope that this verse will speak to you guys somehow or somewhat.
REMINDING YOU NOT TO WORRY ABOUT OUR FUTURE OR WHATS AHEAD.

hi, this post is especially for those who just received their O level results not long ago.

i just want to share abit of my experience during this period of the time last year.

i remembered before i got back my results, i was looking forward, especially to my maths grades and i actually aimed to get 18points for L1R4.
and i still remembered when i got my results, i was quite shocked, that all my grades didnt met my expectation.
i got a b4 for math, when i aimed for b3 and above, and worse of all, i failed my english. an E8 for it.

and that point of time, i rememebered i was just too stunned to talk to anyone, i sat by the stage, just staring into space, my mind went blank, i didnt know what to do at the time.

i remembered i walked home from school, feeling very upset with myself, and i dont know why i got this results even after i studied hard for it.

when i was home, i was very upset that i cried. at that point of time, with a result of 28 points for L1R4, i dont know where i can go. i only passed three subjects, math,science, and chinese.

but i think, now as i look back, i felt that these are ALL in God's plan. somehow i managed to get to RP even though i were only able to opt for ITE schools and courses. and also somehow i got a B3 for my english after retaking it.

but thinking thru it, i saw that God was all along with me, he heard my prayers , and he showed me grace throughout this phrase of my life.

if God didnt planned for me to go RP, i dont know where and what i will be doing right now. i dont know whether i will still be able to experience God as much, and see that He's so real.

all these are really very valuable experiences. and it shows what God can do even in very desperate times of my life. i believe and i trust that God will never fall short of you and He has His wonderful plans for you even if you cannot see what's ahead.

yeah i just want to let those who didnt do very well in this exam know that, God can turn everything around, and i hope that you guys would just take the step of faith to cont to trust in Him, and believe that everything is in good hands. and never give up praying and commiting to God!

Hi all. It's my turn to share! (I can't really see the flow of the PIO system though.. Until Sophia told me.)

I spent my last few weeks of holiday well so I think I won't regret. (= Okay, except this week because it's the time when everyone starts to mug hard and finish up everything on their hands.

Well, I had great time fellowshipping with you guys and some of my friends whom I have not really talked to for quite a long time. Like my P6 friends! =D Some of you would know about the strained friendship I had with them and truly, I think God has really brought us back together and we just laugh at the past silly conflicts.

I also had a camp last week and honestly, I did not really feel like going at first. It was like the second day of the year and I would choose to sleep over camp. Somemore, we're not as close as peanut is to butter. Haha. In a way, I went out of obligation because I was doing the games. But this camp really changed my perspective. I never expected much from the camp (not that I expected little either) but God shaped it in a way for me to confront this subtle barrier that I have placed between myself and my cf friends.
On the first day, the games did not go well and I was a little upset, but I saw that there was unity among us. It's like the camp may not be perfect, but it doesn't matter cause' we're all together. We had morning run on second day, and again, I saw that as long as we go through together, the run feels less difficult compared to running alone. We spent time with God alone when we reached ECP and I was confronted about this issue again. I knew there was some reluctance in me but I committed to Him in prayer anyway. During worship, He really ministered to me.. I began to open up so naturally after that and.. Like even during dinner and games, I started to really talk to my friends (you know sometimes you talk but there's no 'chemistry' but it was really different this time) and even those whom I never talked much to before. (:

Another interesting thing during camp was this session on hearing God's voice. I thought it was another quite cliche kind of sermon but it was quite cool actually. We had a practical session-- praying in groups and tuning in to God. Then the speaker wrote as everyone shared about what they saw or heard. Then we started drawing links.. And we realised that all the things that God revealed is about 'being' and not 'doing'. I guess, when we get right with God about the being, the doing gets easier.
Actually hearing from God isn't difficult because He wants to tell us. It's more about whether we are willing to discipline ourselves to sit down and hear from Him. It is actually a privilege to hear from God, that He actually wants to reveal to us His secrets because we are His friends. (Psalm 25:14 The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.)

I hope this sharing isn't that long.. (= Anyway, please pray for those who are going to start school soon because I believe we're all rushing mad with homework and tests. Haha. (=

Hi BFC!

So actually I wanted to ask Joshua to post all the goals we've set for 2009, but he has done it already! Haha, I was shocked when I read his post. Anyway, just to inform you guys that I'll be collecting cell fund on this coming Saturday. Do bring extra $2 along. I'll send another PIO again later this week, in case those who didn't have time to read our cell blog.

Then .. Joe has purchased the One-year Bibles! Thanks Joe for only wanting to charge us $20, as it actually cost more than that. I'll inform you guys again as to when I'll collect the money for the One-year Bibles. But unfortunately, there's only 4 copies left. So he bought another 2 copies, & they are in chronological order. So the thing now is, to see which two "brave souls" want to take that two copies! Haha. Let me know if you're the brave one :D Those who have already purchased the One-year Bible, please start/continue reading!

And, it's also the first time I've quite a number of prayer requests! So currently, I'll be busy with leadership training in school, as our college's hosting the Pre-U Seminar this year in June. So we're actually starting to train now. & most likely, I'll be one of the OGLs in charge of the upcoming JC1 orientation in Feb. Please pray for my insomnia to go away! As I really need adequate amount of sleep & energy for the activites. & also pray that the bbq that I've organised for my class on this coming Thursday would turn out well! Friday's my college's Open House (for people who are waiting for Os results) , & also SRJC, AJC & YJC, pray for good turnout for all these 4 colleges! Then this Saturday, I'll be on duty. Pray that I'll have a good rest the day before & wake up feeling all energised, enthusiastic to serve God! Right, that's all for now.

Anyway, just want to thank you for the good times that we've been spending. MyHope party and stuff. Please pray for my friends because one of them can't make it for the drama on 27th and another might not be going..

MyHope- As I have shared, I think God helped me because even though I felt like my testimony wasn't that well planned, He helped me to understand how my friends feel and they were quite open to share with me. And I never really planned to ask them so thank God for helping me to be tactful. I guess one thing I learnt is to persevere but not be impatient. I guess it's quite easy to pass the line, which make things more uncomfortable for our friends. Another thing is my problem of placing too much hope on myself. That's what Iris said to me after praying for me and yeah, I found it really true. Salvation is really God's. Yeah! (:

Cell retreat- My head was growing bigger as we talked about goals, cause like what Daryl said, goals are quite a foreign word to me. And I was thinking about my school's ministry because they want to undergo a radical change. So in a way, I felt quite stressed. But sometimes really think about it, we just need to ask God and do our best for Him, leaving all things to Him. =D (Laziness has to go. Haha.) Working with Daryl will be great cause' I can bully him. Haha. I'm kidding. Just that my load will be more manageable so thank God once again for the smooth flow of things. Yeah, thank you YM and Smart for planning the retreat!

Cell Retreat Reflections

Hi everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the cell retreat! Coz I did! =)

I found it really meaningful and feel that the time was well spent. I guess it is important to set goals for the new year. It gives us direction for the new year and motivation to achieve something. Actually, when I first heard all the goals, I was a bit overwhelmed because for me, setting so many goals and targets would be considered ambitious. I'd probably have taken 10 years to set such goals! But then of course, fortunately, we have all types of people in our cell and I am sure we'll be able to spur one another on to achieve the goals we set with the Barnabas Project and all that!

Yup! Another thing about the cell retreat was the thing about the ParentsConnect thingy. For me, because I was born into a Christian family, maybe I didn't feel as much a burden to share the gospel and bring more into His Kingdom. There were relatives who were not yet saved but maybe I was still quite young then to feel any urgency to save them. Maybe the most difficult time for me was when my maternal grandfather was on his deathbed. That was probably the only time I actually prayed quite regularly for my grandfather's salvation. For those of you who still have family members still unsaved, don't give up! Of course we all have friends who are unsaved but usually the ones who are closer to you, we find the most challenging to reach out to. And I guess that is our family. I just want to encourage you all with this verse:

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Galatians 6:9

Although this verse is not really talking directly about salvations and all, I believe that it works for anything good. So let us not be weary in sharing the gospel to our friends, family, maybe even strangers, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up!

This is obviously a challenge to me since the My Hope party was actually the first time I invited my friends to any such events. But I guess I can do it because I am encouraged by you all who are able to bring almost a whole class of people to such events! =)

Also, I apologise for not fulfilling my responsibilities as a Prayer i/c! Yup! I confess that I haven't really been recording many prayer requests before the "A New Season" post. And of course since I haven't recorded them down, I can't share with you all how exactly God has been faithful to us. For me, I love praying but from young I haven't had the habit of recording down specific prayers I have prayed. So, I remember that God has been faithful in answering my prayers but exactly what prayer he answered and when, I can't remember. So I guess what Jacelyn said was right. We should all have our own personal prayer requests booklet too so we can count our blessings! Anyway, going through records, I do have some records of prayer requests over the past 3 years. Most are from the year 2007. 2008 has hardly none. 2006 doesn't seem to have many either. I think there were many more but I either didn't record them down or I misplaced the list somewhere. You all will have to forgive me here =) So I'll just post what I have so far...

I pray that Lord will bless you in the coming year where you face times of important decision making, that He'll direct your paths to where its best for you. submit everything to Him and live in His goodness for the whole of your 17th year! blessed in His name!

I came here because I wanted to share my experience during My Hope. so timely, after I read Sophia post, I realised its my turn to post.

the party was great, ice breaking was well done, there was so much food, the environment was nice and comfortable, a few couldnt make it last minute but the amount of people that turn up was awesome. all to God's glory.
as the time of sharing got nearer, my heart started racing. I was nervous.
after I sat down, Minhui's first question to me was "honestly YeoMei, tell me whats the purpose of this party?" in a joking manner, but its strucked me, made me felt so inferior. I did told them before its a party with games, food and gift exchange. there'll be a video for you all to watch and a time of me sharing with you guys something you may not know about. I stumbled a bit as I answer her question. it took me awhile to warm up before I started with my testimony. inside me I kept telling God, please guide me along the way and make me speak what you want me to that will touch their hearts.
I was struggling. I was afraid to share, afraid that they'll feel awkward when I say "its God's love that..." or "its because of God that...". that kind of words that link to God that is not as familiar to them.
in actual fact, I was the one feeling awkward as I talked to them. I was the one that is feeling uncomfortable sharing. I felt reserved in sharing some things, but I thought, I have the chance now, I should seize it and go on with it. like what Joe mentioned before, pai seh for God its alright one! I was reminded of Philippians 4:6-7 once again at that time.

6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

yes, what a useful verse that always keep me aware that God will help me at all times :)

After I shared, I asked Valerie to share something too. She is a Christian and I hope she could share something that can touch their hearts too. but she said something that contradict to my testimony. She said she is an on and off christian that is Godly alternately. She felt unfair most of the time(because of her personal problems which I dont think its nice to share it here so publicly) and always ask God why does that happen to her. She keep on praying for a miracle to happen to her, to change her life but God never answers to it. these were her reasons why sometimes she seek God, sometimes she doesnt. so I was like thrown into the ocean, so lost of what to say. so I said "things dont always happen the way you want it to, thats why we need to pray. ok now I'll say a prayer, if you feel like it just repeat after me sincerely in your heart. ok lets close our eyes and bow our heads. " and I went on with the sinner's prayer.

after that I left to put my things in my bag and they went to get their food. it was such a relieve as I leave the room. like wow, I'd done it. :) Praise the Lord!
while eating I started asking them one by one, if they'd followed me in the prayer.
Christina said "yah I did but you said it quite fast, trying my best to catch up and I did! hahaha."
Daphne said "sorry. I really dont believe in such things."
Minhui said " yes I did. but it was quite difficult to catch up with you."
Yuhui said "no. sorry but my mother is my religion."

for Christina and Minhui, is that salvation? I really dont know.
Jacelyn affirmed me that it is because they declared that they said in their hearts. and that salvation belongs to the Lord, He had stirred their hearts.

I'll be seeing them later on, and I'll invite them for service tomorrow.
Father Lord I pray that as I invite Christina and Minhui for service tomorrow, I pray that you'll open their hearts to receive this invitation and they'll have a good experience during Youth Ablaze! Father Lord I pray that they'll once again be touched by You and be affirmed of Your love for them. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Hey BFC! I'm sorry I took such a long time to post, this is a time scheduled post, but here I am. (: I believed most of us truly enjoyed the youth camp & 'My Hope, Singapore' Christmas Party held not very long ago! Let's continue to thank God each & everyday, & that the hearts of our friends & family will be moved by the Lord one day.

Let us now look at Psalms 115:16-18 ;

16The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to man.

17It is not the dead who praise the Lord, those who go down to silence;

18it is we who extol the Lord, both now and forevermore.

Sometimes we think that being zestful is a born trait, but God has given us the energy to grow. Some of us might even think that we're born without zest for life, however the Bible says, God has put us in charge of the earth. So what can we do to change our spiritual zest? Verses 17 & 18 says that we shall bless Him always, & have the readiness to praise God! We praise Him now, we praise Him, always.

However, I believed some of us might have encountered barriers when you're praising God. We depend on our own feelings instead of faith. We praise only when we feel like it, at times when we don't feel like worshipping & praising God, we just go along with the congregation "half-heartedly". You might be saying it inside your heart, "Sorry God, today I don't have the mood. I know You will forgive me right? I'll do it next week."

Yes, indeed. God forgives us. But is this the right way to abuse His forgiveness? We should throw all distractions away & just focus on God. What happens when we praise God? Acts 16:25-36 says; He'll bless us in return, & even receive blessings that you'd never have expected. Therefore, now is the time to readjust your views of yourself! I believe everyone's born with zest, it's whether or not you've the courage to release it, for God. Tell yourself, "I will praise God today and praise always, no matter what happens or how I feel."

Blessings will chase after you.

Sacrifice offering.

hello im back here to share something with all of you that i allows me to re-think about my faith in God.

My mom went to some church service which talks about giving an offering unto God which requires our faith. And as she was praying about it, God showed her the amount of $5000 twice.
( that was the total amount left sufficient for my Dad's study school loan and our expenses)
She came home and shared it with me and this tested our faith for God.

coincidentally, while i was doing my daily journal i came upon this.
Matthew 19:27-29
and Luke 5:4-11

and it talks about, must we be lured with the money to do God's work?
What about the call of God on our lives?
How much is enough? Where does sacrifice fit in?
As we read the Gospel long enough, we will be confronted with a Saviour who calls for sacrificial commitment.

I felt that God's word was speaking directly at me at that point of time.
reminding me about SACRIFICIAL COMMITMENT.
it also reminded me about Peter,James and John who had worked with Jesus but GAVE UP EVERYTHING and FOLLOWED Jesus.

God also showed me the verse where it says something about
He returning a hundred fold of what we gave up.
this verse allowed me to grow more faith in God.

As most of you might know, my family is going under some financial problems.
so when i know that my mom was struggling in this point of time,
i was too.
and i was thinking, giving God that everything we had
an he really bless us more and help my dad clear his debts?

then God spoke to me thru the journal,
" Will you struggle in your life with these little sum of money, or will you trust THE ONE to supply all your needs in future giving you back a hundred fold?"

His Word still continues to remind me of what little Faith i have in Him.
God really tested my faith and i need a Huge Faith to pray for my family
and for my mom to put that amount of money in.

That amount, $5000 requires a Big faith
and that is what i called Sacrificial Offering unto God.
does $10 requires much faith?
how about $50?
or about $100?
if any of you can afford that amount,
it does not require faith.
BUT if God wants you to give Him 3/4 of your money or even everything,
will you have the Faith to give up everythng and follow Him?
knowing that He will bless you more.

hope that this would come in handy in your life walk with God.
this situation really tested my faith for God.
and i hope you would ponder about ur faith with him.

Hey all. I thank God for hearts that are so open to share. You have no idea how I wow-ed at your posts. (:

Anyway, I also enjoyed the sermon on prayers because I still have many questions about the topic. I guess all of us face this issue of going-to-fall-asleep when we pray cause' many times we share about that, everyone starts laughing because we can relate to it. Haha. Jesus really encouraged me with the passage that Bishop Moses Tay shared..

Matthew 26: 39-45

39Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

One of my question was: Is it really so important to pray for the same things over and over again? Isn't that like repeating? But Jesus prayed the same prayer three times! I guess there's one thin line between perseverance in prayer and repetitive prayers. To persevere in prayer is to really mean in genuinely and and living it out in faith (which means to think of these things that are worthy, lovely etc.) To repeat our prayers is to pray without the heart, like memorising texts for exams. (Gotcha? (;) Yeah, but as human, we still need God's grace as we grow to love prayer more.

As to the discussion during cell, you have no idea how difficult it was for me to share. Especially since uncle daniel was there. Haha. But my spirit's truly delighted when he shared about some verses, like Revelation 12:11

10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
"Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ.
For the accuser of our brothers,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb

its truly a hearty sharing from you! and i get to know you better through this blog! yes i totally agree with you that prayer is a powerful thing. its even more powerful when you experienced the wonders it could do!

i think that what you shared during cell were okay, because i believe that we all see things from a different perspective . no one's perspective is totally right, we need to piece everyone's views together to get a clearer picture of the whole thing, or get a better understanding.

so its really alright i guess we all enjoyed your sharing and your post!

hey people!

The send-off for ben & yeomei was great! although there were only 5 of us. I got admit I was tired. I'm sure the rest were too. And standing on the bus for 5/6 of the journey just didnt help. haha. When I reached the airport, the rest were with YeoMei already.

We played 1 round of PowerGrid after breakfast while waiting for ben. Stress man. It was really a long long game.. We kind of surpise ben in the end. We tried to but couldnt find him. In the end, he was just behind us. But because he was facing the other side so we didnt see one another.

After that, walked around, took picturesss (please upload, thanks).. We had a trolley to carry our bags! (:
And the thing is, you cant use the escalator with the trolley. So we had to 'abandon' it if we are moving to another level since it's quite troublesome. But when we got to the next level, there was another one. haha.. Thank YOU God!

No, I wasnt bored even though I didnt talk that much la. Most of the time, they all were, H-ing. Hunderstand? Ho? Hoo Had.. Hoe Haid, H Hpoke HonHy 5% Hout Hof Hall Hhe HonHerHaHions. haha. Exaggerating!! (:

Actually this is like an abrupt post. I just want to thank the cell again for all your prayers & support during my exams.. Xie Xie Ni Men, Hen Duo Hen Duo. LOL. Coming to cell is what I look forward to each week. You people has, have, had & will be my best buddies, bros, sis!! (:
Ever since 2006, God gave me, You, Yes, You!

Watching the cell grow & growing together with the cell is really fun & encouraging. Of course, there were not-so-good times but it's inevitable. Our Christian walk is not a straight smooth path. It's like a roller-coaster ride. Sometimes we go up & sometimes down. Sometimes fast & sometimes slow. It is Important that we know how to discern the season and adapt to it. Not forgetting to cherish each moment & scenery.

I pray that all of us will continue to grow strong in the year ahead. Supporting & encouraging one another while doing so. I pray that we will forge friendships that will last for eternity not just with the cell but also with youths from the church.

A New Season

I thank the Lord for Sunday's message about prayer. I don't go for service every Sunday except for the official once-a-week cell commitment. But I went for this Sunday's one because I had an overnight usher bonding. And I really enjoyed the message.

I've loved praying since young. It was always a joy for me to pray. I found it fun. But as I grew older, praying seemed to be less enjoyable and more like a chore. Maybe because sometimes there's so many things to pray for. Sometimes, I was just lazy. But most of the time, I disciplined myself to pray even though I didn't feel like it because I knew how powerful prayer is and I knew what prayer could do. But then, it became something like praying for the sole purpose of receiving something instead of praying because I loved to and because I wanted to. Anyway, that's why I volunteered to be prayer i/c. I loved prayer. And I still do. And recently, I've kinda rekindled my love for prayer. So I thank the Lord for that.

I guess my prayer life has been alright. Used to just pray for myself and family. As I grew, prayed for friends as well. And nowadays, I pray for others around the world, for those quite faraway in distant lands. I just think that sometimes I should. But I don't pray very long. Far from an hour a day. I find it difficult to set aside a specific amount of time each day to pray, because most of the time I can't think of much to pray. Quiet time is ok. But when it comes to prayer initiatives like the 24/365 prayer chain thingy, I barely reach the target time. For the 24/365 prayer chain we had, I struggled to reach 15min. Maybe I was not ready, being in a holiday mood and all. As I was overseas, I didn't really use the book that was given to us throughout the week. Used it just that day we prayed. This happens for most prayer events. Can't reach the target time. I'm kinda like if I think of something during the course of the day, I will say a short prayer there and then. If is special time set aside to pray, I usually have nothing much to pray. But I guess this is where the gift of tongues comes in handy. Been using it more often now than in the past, so I guess that's good. I lost it once before, I think. At that time I think I didn't really want it, so I didn't really use it.

Yes, anyway here's sharing with you all Bishop Moses Tay's suggested prayer structure based on the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 for those who weren't there. It helps you keep watch for at least one hour and when you're not sure what to pray for, like me. Of course there's no set structure for prayer but it's just a guide.

The Lord's Prayer

Focus on God

1. His Person: Relationship
2. His Names: Worship
3. His Kingdom: Salvation of family and friends
4. His Will: Purpose - Church on earth
5. His Provision: Personal needs
6. His Forgiveness: Personal revival
7. His Freedom: Forgive others and be free!
8. His Word: Hear and obey
9. His Guidance: Lead us not into temptation
10. His Protection: Safe from evil
11. His World: Nations for God
12. His Glory: Praise for transformation

5min x 12 = 1hr

The one hour is based on the passage in Matthew 26:36-46 where Jesus asked three of his disciples to keep watch with him for an hour while he prayed but they fell asleep doing so.

Anyway, I apologise for my comments during cell on Saturday. What I said about the season our cell was in, I think I didn't really answer the question well. Yes, I believe our cell is in a season of harvesting and bringing more people into the Kingdom of God. What I said about how I felt that we sometimes we focus too much on salvations and neglect the ones who have come and gone were my feelings about the Youth Church as a whole. Maybe 'neglect' was a word that had too strong a meaning. What I meant was that maybe we haven't done enough to keep people in church. Because I know our cell never forgets our more distant members. The Youth Church has undergone a lot of changes since its days in the Chapel. And as we all know I'm not a fan of change, so maybe my feelings were partly due to reminiscing about the past and how I've seen many people leave the church and maybe that's why I felt at that time that we haven't done enough. After thinking it through, though, I think I was a bit impulsive and hadn't thought it through properly before answering the question. I made a lot of assumptions and jumped to conclusions. People can leave the church for many reasons, and it doesn't mean the church hasn't done its best to keep them. I guess my feelings were based on what I saw on the surface and I did not consider all the "behind the scenes" activity that was going on. So I guess I might have judged the Youth Church wrongly at that instant. I don't know why I suddenly felt that way too. But I'm sorry. I later realised that God was speaking to me. I was the one who wasn't doing enough to keep people in the cell, in the church. I guess I didn't see the plank in my own eye.

Now, for the final part, I'd just like to share with you all something. As I shared during cell on Saturday, I usually know what I ought to do, what season I am in, which direction God intends me to go. But most of the time I don't paddle in that direction or at the most very slowly, because I don't want to commit or I think I'm not ready. But now, I think I'm ready to move along with the current and towards what God has in store for me. And God has challenged me to something quite achievable, something I love doing - praying! He has hoped for me to pray more each day and eventually reach the one hour daily. I guess I might not find it that easy to reach the one hour and be consistent about it after reaching it. But I think if anything, this is the best time to do it - during the holidays.

Sorry this post was so long but I had just had a lot to say.

I guess its my turn to blog, pardon me cause I love blogging looooong entries!

Never really explicitly talked abt this before but I wanna share about eczema. If you guys don't know, actually my eczema was under controlled for the whole of sec years, I look perfectly normal. I was cured by this TCM doc so I always went back to him whenever traces of eczema showed up. However, this time round, when it flarred up around March/April, seeing him didn't help my condition much. So now, I've switch doctor. This time round, this doctor medical fees are more expensive, like a few hundred every visit and I have to visit her once every week. On top of that, the kind of medicine is different also. Previously, I ate medicine in tablets form, now, its the brew kind (super bitter!) Anyway, the point is that, even after consulting this doctor, my condition didn't really improve drastically.

Then, Wanhui asked me to try Healing Room. Although for first-timers is scary because you don't know what to expect, but they uncle & aunties there are superrrrr nice :) Coincidentally, Uncle KK and Aunty Patsy were the ones praying for me. They shared with me alot of stuff like about my worries and how I should just commit the future unto the Lord's hands. The next day after the healing room, my skin was the best I've seen so far. I mean, its like to the state of I-can't-believe-my-skin-complexsion-is-suddenly-so-smoooth! I was very amazed by what God could do!

However, after the outdoor pe, my condition detoriated AGAIN :( I thought I was healed so I took the risk and went under the sun :( So, I went to Healing Room the second time! This time, it was Aunty Angela & Aunty Kwee Choon(the Chinese pastor who always translate for SP @ sermons @ L2). I really felt God speaking to me through them. What they shared with me really insightful! They said that maybe eczema is God's way of strengthening my faith in him and teaching me things that I wounld never learn if I don't go through this process. Its also God's way of teaching me to rely on him as he is our Heavenly Father, that I shouldn't do things based on my own strength, but draw strength from his awesome power! This really clicked with me.

If I didn't have eczema, I won't have tasted God's awesome healing power & His power to perform miracles.

If I didn't have eczema, I won't have get to know the uncle and aunties in this church.

If I didn't have eczema, I guess my faith won't be that strong.

If I didn't have eczema, I won't know how caring and awesome my cell group is.

So, eczema is not really a bad thing when you look at it from God's POV. So to all those who are facing difficulties in life, look at your problems from Daddy's POV, things might not seem as bad as it seems. Ironically, you might find that through all these hurdles & hardship, you've learnt and grown alot, both mentally and spiritually! :)

let's pray for Clarissa's work, that she will not tire herself so much with the long working hours, and that it'll not affect the time she spends with God.

let's pray for Benedict's safety as he goes to Cambodia, providing help to the orphans. and that he'll learn something out of this experience.

let's pray for Smarties because he is falling sick. and pray for everyone's health too as the flu virus is spreading and getting so contagious nowadays.

let's pray for YeoMei's safety as she goes to Perth for training and matches. pray for no injuries and that she'll learn something new. also, not forgetting to spend time with God and give thanks in whatever situation.

let's pray for the lost sheeps, their spiritual well being. have faith in them, have faith in God.

hi everyone! its my turn to post.

actually i had been thinking of what to post to you guys, so that we can learn something together, or generate something from it to debate about or so. haha.

but anyway, i thought the movie today were nice! haha. i think its one of the nicest "Cartoon" shows that i enjoy. even better than HSM3!!

today we set till the end of the movie, and as they were showing the credits portion, something struck my mind.
i was looking thru the names that was shown. then i saw everyone walking out of the cinema.

to me i thought, hey why didnt they stay to take a look at the credits or yeah. since, these were the people who made the movie possible, for us to laugh, for us to enjoy.

i think, a lot of times in life, we fail to give credit to God too. everytime we pray, we hope for a answer, and when its answered, its just like a "faith increase" moment kind of thing. but i think, other than giving thanks for prayers, we should be giving thanks for every single thing in our life!

the fact that you can go for a movie with your cell, that you can go church freely but sometimes we just say we are too tired, the fact that God blesses you with your classmates, a school, we should give thanks!

so yeah, lets not be like those who just takes things for granted, but thank God for it.

and i really thank God for this BFC! that we have a close friendship with one another, that we have been in a cell for 3 years ler! its really great to see we have improved together so much. in terms of our relationship with God, our friendship, our looks and etc ..

Hi BFC!

I feel like a virgin threading on unchartered grounds! Yes, it's my 1st time ever ever blogging! Hahahahha .... feel a bit swan-gu. But it's a great start for me, esp when I'm thinking of starting a blog for my baby!!!! :-)

Wanna tell u pple that I'm so proud, inspired and encouraged by ur beautiful feet, that r leaving wonderfully beautiful footprints in Youth Ablaze! It has been great watching God transform BFC, not just the individuals, but also the entire cell. I'm sure God is smiling every time He watches how yawl encourage each other, contact each other, lend a helping hand and support to ur leaders, and even writing those lovely cards to encourage the other leaders in Youth Ablaze!!!

I'm a walking "series of unfortunate events".

You know the pimple in the eye thingy which originated from my lower right eyelid, to my upper right eyelid? Now its spreading to my lower left eyelid :( I have no idea what is causing it so I'm going to see a Doc tmr. Please pray! I really don't wanna be plague by any more illnesses etc...

And rmb to pray for your respective leaders! If they nvr reply you, don't lose hope, just keep them in your prayers! :) Have faith!
